What is the Distinction between Pneumatic Tire and Cushion Tire?

One of the most popular questions about this kind of machine is determining the distinction between pneumatic tire forklifts and cushion tire forklifts. Each and every tire type is specifically right for various needs.

Similar to tires on a vehicle, pneumatic tires have air in them. These tires are great for indoor application but they are more useful in outdoor "yard" applications and on gravel and uneven surfaces.

Cushion tires are made as a solid industrial tire which is utilized mainly for indoor applications. These tires could be used outdoors on asphalt surfaces only. If you do drive cushion tires outside, there is an option to get traction tires on the front of the equipment. These are called the drive tires. The back tires or the steer tires are particularly made for steering. Traction tires located on the rear of the forklift will simply wear out faster. Hence, if you do need to work outdoors, having traction on the front and the smooth tires on the rear would be the most economical and safest way to operate.

What is the difference between Air Pneumatic and Solid Pneumatic tires?

It can be fairly difficult when trying to determine the main difference between the two kinds of tires. They will operate well in both in asphalt and gravel conditions. The main difference between the two tire types is solid pneumatics are made of solid rubber. This means you cannot puncture, pop or gouge them because they are strong. These tires are more pricey than air pneumatic tires because they are made up of way more rubber. These tires are best suited for locations like lumber yards and scrap yards where there can be a lot of debris or sharp objects on the ground.

Air pneumatic tires could be punctured accidentally. When this happens, you can get flat tires from them. Prior to operating a forklift with air pneumatic tires, check your work area and be sure that the yard is free of nails, scrap debris and sharp metals. In most applications, standard air pneumatic tires work really great.
